Description
Dual Uranium is an Industrial Craft 2 (IC2 Experimental) nuclear fuel rod that packs two Uranium Fuel Rods into a single component slot inside the IC2 Nuclear Reactor. It is crafted from 2 Uranium Fuel Rods and 1 Iron on the crafting bench, with the rods at both ends of a row and the iron in the middle, and acts as the workhorse fuel for mid-game IC2 power. Each reactor tick the rod fires four neutron pulses — exactly like two uranium rods placed side by side — giving a standalone output of 20 EU/t and 24 hU/s of heat, four times the 5 EU/t of a single rod. Unlike MOX, uranium fuel keeps flat efficiency across the full hull-heat range, so reactor builds can stay cool and stable. Durability is about 20,000 reactor ticks, after which the rod becomes a Depleted Dual Uranium Fuel Rod that can be reprocessed in a Thermal Centrifuge to recover tiny piles of plutonium, Uranium-238, and iron dust. To run it safely you pair the rod with Heat Vents and 10k, 30k, or 60k Coolant Cells inside the Nuclear Reactor GUI, keeping hull heat low while the rod produces steady EU/t for the grid.

Craft the Dual Uranium rod
Place 2 Uranium Fuel Rods at both ends of a crafting-bench row with 1 Iron between them to craft one Dual Uranium rod.

Place the IC2 Nuclear Reactor
Set down an IC2 Nuclear Reactor and attach Reactor Chambers as needed, then open the GUI to access the internal component grid.

Slot the rod into the reactor grid
Insert Dual Uranium into the component grid: as a two-rod stack it already fires four pulses per tick on its own, and each adjacent fuel rod adds still more output.

Cool the chamber
Surround the rod with Heat Vents and 10k, 30k, or 60k Coolant Cells so the reactor stays under safe hull heat during operation.

After about 20,000 ticks the rod becomes a Depleted Dual Uranium Fuel Rod; reprocess it in a Thermal Centrifuge to recover 3 tiny piles of plutonium, 3 Uranium-238, and 3 iron dust.
