Description
Dual Uranium is an Industrial Craft 2 (IC2 Experimental) nuclear fuel rod that packs two Uranium Fuel Rods into a single component slot inside the IC2 Nuclear Reactor. It is crafted from 2 Uranium Fuel Rods and 1 Empty Fuel Rod (Dual) in a shaped recipe and acts as the workhorse fuel for mid-game IC2 power. Each reactor tick the rod pulses two adjacent components, doubling neutron interactions versus a single uranium rod and roughly doubling both EU/t and heat output. Unlike MOX, a Uranium Fuel Rod has flat efficiency across the full hull-heat range, so reactor builds can stay cool and stable. Durability is about 20,000 reactor ticks, after which the rod becomes a Depleted Dual Uranium Fuel Rod that can be reprocessed in a Thermal Centrifuge or burned in an RTG. To run it safely you pair the rod with Heat Vents and 10k, 30k, or 60k Coolant Cells inside the Nuclear Reactor GUI, keeping hull heat low while the rod produces steady EU/t for the grid.

Craft the Dual Uranium rod
Use 2 Uranium Fuel Rods plus 1 Empty Fuel Rod (Dual) in a shaped IC2 recipe on the crafting bench to produce one Dual Uranium rod.

Place the IC2 Nuclear Reactor
Set down an IC2 Nuclear Reactor and attach Reactor Chambers as needed, then open the GUI to access the internal component grid.

Slot the rod next to its partner
Insert Dual Uranium so it touches another fuel rod on two sides; this lets every reactor tick deliver four pulses of useful neutrons.

Cool the chamber
Surround the rod with Heat Vents and 10k, 30k, or 60k Coolant Cells so the reactor stays under safe hull heat during operation.
