How to Make Chilling in Minecraft
Chilling
Chilling is an Industrial Craft 2 Terraformer Blueprint (a program card for the Terraformer machine) that covers the surrounding land with snow and ice.
Description
To run the program, right-click a Terraformer while holding the Chilling blueprint; the card slots into the machine and selects the chilling routine. The Terraformer works while powered by cable, for example from an MFE, and the Chilling program draws 4 EU/t. A Terraformer drains all available energy as fast as possible, and a complete landscape conversion can take multiple days, so keep the power supply connected. Right-click the Terraformer with an empty hand to eject the Chilling blueprint. Chilling suits winter-themed bases, ice roads, and snow farms, while the Desertification blueprint melts the snow away again.
Guide
How to Use the Chilling TFBP in Industrial Craft 2
-
1
Craft the Chilling Blueprint
Place four Snowballs on a crafting grid in a plus pattern — one above, one below, one left, and one right of the centre — to program one Chilling Terraformer Blueprint.
-
2
Load the Card into a Terraformer
Right-click a placed Terraformer while holding the Chilling blueprint in hand; the card slides into the machine and selects the chilling program.
-
3
Connect a Power Source
Run a cable from an energy store such as an MFE to the Terraformer; the Chilling program draws 4 EU/t while the machine runs.
-
4
Let the Winter Spread
Keep the Terraformer powered while the Chilling program generates snow, freezes water, and piles up snow blocks within roughly 32 blocks of the machine.
-
5
Eject the Card When Finished
Right-click the Terraformer with an empty hand to make the Chilling blueprint pop out of the machine.
Two Terraformers with overlapping ranges keep terraforming the shared area until one machine runs out of power, so position Terraformer units so the roughly 32-block ranges stay clear of each other.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Chilling and Desertification?
Chilling builds a winter by generating snow, freezing water, and stacking snow blocks, while Desertification melts ice and snow, destroys plants, and replaces dirt with sand. Desertification even sets forests on fire, so players pick Chilling for snow and Desertification for deserts.
How long does the Chilling program need to finish?
A complete terraforming operation can take multiple in-game days. The Chilling program keeps converting the landscape as long as the Terraformer has energy.
Can players reuse a Chilling blueprint?
Right-clicking the Terraformer ejects the Chilling blueprint intact. Placing the ejected card alone on a crafting grid erases the program and returns an empty Terraformer Blueprint ready for a new one.
What powers a Terraformer running Chilling?
The Terraformer takes energy through a cable connection, for example from an MFE. The machine drains all available energy as fast as possible, so Chilling terraforming can consume vast amounts of power.
