Description

Construction Foam Powder (CF Powder) is an Industrial Craft 2 crafting ingredient used to produce sprayable Construction Foam. Players load CF Powder together with water into a CF Sprayer, then aim the sprayer at any surface or cable run. The wet foam coats the target and hardens within about a minute into Reinforced Stone, a tough, blast-resistant block that survives Creepers, TNT, and nuclear reactor meltdowns far better than vanilla stone. The most common use is encasing IC2 cables: cables placed inside hardened foam continue to transfer EU while gaining explosion protection, which is critical around reactors and high-voltage transformers. Builders also spray CF Powder to raise cheap reinforced walls, bunker roofs, and reactor containment shells without quarrying tons of obsidian. Before the foam sets, players can apply any vanilla dye to color the resulting Reinforced Stone, allowing decorative bases without sacrificing durability. CF Powder is crafted in IC2 from sand-based ingredients and stacks to 64 in inventory. On AlaCraft Minecraft servers running IC2 packs, CF Powder is a key item for endgame nuclear builds and PvP base hardening.

Guide

How to use Construction Foam Powder in IC2

  1. 1

    Obtain CF Powder

Craft Construction Foam Powder in IC2 using sand-based ingredients. The stack size is 64, so prepare a full stack before large projects.

  2. 2

    Prepare a CF Sprayer

Place CF Powder into the CF Sprayer along with a water source — a water cell, capsule, or bucket depending on your IC2 version.

  3. 3

    Spray the target

Right-click the surface, wall, or cable you want to reinforce. Wet foam appears as a soft, deformable block.

  4. 4

    Wait for hardening

Within about one minute, the wet foam cures into Reinforced Stone, gaining full blast resistance against TNT and Creepers.

  5. 5

    Optional dyeing

Apply any vanilla dye to the wet foam before it sets to produce colored Reinforced Stone for decorative or coded bases.

Frequently asked questions

What is Construction Foam Powder used for?

CF Powder is loaded into a CF Sprayer with water to spray Construction Foam that hardens into blast-resistant Reinforced Stone, mainly for protecting IC2 cables and reactor walls.

How long does the foam take to harden?

Wet Construction Foam cures into Reinforced Stone within about one minute after spraying.

Can I dye the resulting Reinforced Stone?

Yes. Apply any vanilla dye to the wet foam before it hardens to set the color of the final Reinforced Stone.

Does spraying foam break IC2 cables inside it?

No. Cables encased in hardened foam continue to transfer EU and gain explosion protection — that is the intended use.

What stack size does CF Powder have?

CF Powder stacks up to 64, like most IC2 crafting items.
