How to Make Carbon Rotor in Minecraft
Carbon Rotor
Carbon Rotor is the highest-efficiency rotor for the Kinetic Wind Generator, with efficiency 1.0 (the multiplier on its output) and 604,800 seconds of durability.
Description
Carbon Rotor has a diameter of 11 and works in wind strength from 20 to 110. The output of the Kinetic Wind Generator equals wind strength × output modifier × rotor efficiency, so efficiency 1.0 is the largest multiplier among the four rotors. Wind above 110 does not stop Carbon Rotor, but its durability then drains four times faster. Carbon Rotor durability is 604,800 seconds (7 days), compared with 172,800 seconds (2 days) for Steel Rotor. The Carbon Rotor minimum wind of 20 is the highest of the four rotors, so Steel Rotor, with a minimum of 17, still runs in weaker wind.
Guide
How to use Carbon Rotor in a Kinetic Wind Generator
-
1
Craft Carbon Rotor
Four Carbon Rotor Blade items and one Steel Shaft go on a Crafting Table in a plus shape, with the Steel Shaft in the center and one blade above, below, left and right. The Crafting Table returns one Carbon Rotor.
-
2
Insert the rotor
Carbon Rotor goes into the interface of the Kinetic Wind Generator. The turbine needs enough free space around the blades.
-
3
Check the wind
A Wind Meter shows the wind strength in an area. Carbon Rotor needs a reading of at least 20 to run.
-
4
Keep the blades clear
The blades of Carbon Rotor must stay free of blocks and other rotors.
-
5
Add a Kinetic Generator
A Kinetic Generator stands next to the turbine and converts Kinetic Energy into EU.
Rain adds 25% to the wind strength and a storm adds 50%, which helps Carbon Rotor reach its minimum of 20.

Frequently asked questions
At what height does Carbon Rotor get the most wind?
Wind is strongest around y = 160, almost absent at y = 255, and never enough below y = 64, where the Kinetic Wind Generator produces no EU at all.
Which rotors suit weak wind better than Carbon Rotor?
Steel Rotor needs a minimum wind of 17, Iron Rotor 14 and Wood Rotor 10, against 20 for Carbon Rotor, so all three start in weaker wind.
Can Kinetic Wind Generators stand behind each other?
Placing them that way is impractical: another Kinetic Wind Generator behind the first can obstruct it within the rotors' range of up to 22 blocks. Turbines work better in a line or a grid.
