How to get and use the Guide Book in Ala Industrial
-
1
Join a world and check your inventory
On your first join, Ala Industrial places the Guide Book in your inventory automatically — exactly once per world. If the inventory is full, the book drops at your feet instead of disappearing.
-
2
Open the book with a right-click
Hold the Guide Book and right-click. A full-screen reader opens on the Getting Started tab — no block is placed and no energy is spent.
-
3
Follow the Getting Started chapter
The chapter walks you from your first generator to your first cable and machine, explaining EU energy and the LV/MV/HV voltage tiers on the way.
-
4
Use links and the recipe widget
Clickable links jump between entries, and every entry page draws its crafting recipe in a built-in widget — JEI or REI does not need to be installed.
-
5
Recover a lost copy
Craft the Guide Book again from one Book and one Wooden Gear in a shapeless recipe, or run the /alaindustrial guide command to get it back instantly.
In version 1 the chapters are fully written in English and Russian; in every other language the item name is translated but the chapter text is shown in English for now.

Frequently asked questions
How do you get the Guide Book in Ala Industrial?
It is given automatically: on your first join to a world, the book appears in your inventory exactly once. The already-given flag is stored per world, so dying or relogging never grants a second copy.
Can the Guide Book be crafted?
Yes. A shapeless recipe combines one vanilla Book and one Wooden Gear into a new Guide Book — the cheap way to replace a lost copy.
Does the Guide Book use energy?
No. The Guide Book is pure reading material: it has no EU buffer, draws no power, and has no mechanical effect when used.
What does the Guide Book cover?
Ten chapters cover every block and item already implemented in Ala Industrial — for each one a short description, its stats (tier, EU, buffer), and its crafting recipe. Planned but unadded content is deliberately left out.
Are the chapters written in my language?
In version 1 the full chapter text is written in English and Russian. All other languages get a translated item name while the chapters themselves stay in English for now.
Does the Guide Book work without JEI or REI?
Yes. The built-in recipe widget draws ingredients and results on its own, so recipe viewers are optional on both Fabric and NeoForge.
