Goat Horn
Goat Horn is a musical instrument dropped when a goat rams a solid block; blow it to play one of 8 sounds across the map.
Description
Using a Goat Horn plays a loud bellowing note that carries about 256 blocks, making Goat Horn a practical long-range signal for multiplayer teams marking rally points or incoming raids. Each Goat Horn has a seven-second (140-tick) cooldown before it can sound again, and Goat Horn does not stack in the inventory. Collectors chase all eight Goat Horn tones because each one is a separate item, so completing the set requires both ramming goats and looting outposts.
Survival Guide
How to get and use a Goat Horn in Minecraft
-
1
Find a goat
Locate a goat in mountain biomes such as frozen peaks, jagged peaks, or snowy slopes, where goats spawn naturally.
-
2
Provoke a ram
Stand near a solid block like stone or a log so the goat charges, rams the block, gets stunned, and drops a Goat Horn.
-
3
Pick up the horn
Walk over the dropped Goat Horn to collect it; screaming goats ram far more often, so they yield horns faster.
-
4
Blow the horn
Hold the Goat Horn and use it to play its sound, which other players can hear up to about 256 blocks away.
Four of the eight horns — Admire, Call, Dream, and Yearn — never drop from goats and must be looted from pillager outpost chests.
