The Electric Chainsaw is a rechargeable EU-powered axe — fells wood and leaves faster than a diamond axe while charged, spends 30 EU per block, and never breaks.
Description
The Electric Chainsaw has no durability and never breaks: the bar under the icon shows EU charge, not wear. It charges in the Battery Box charge slot and from a worn Energy Pack at up to 32 EU/t (the LV tier ceiling), filling in about 16 seconds, and third-party mod chargers work too at 1 EU = 1 FE, charge-only. Below 30 EU the chainsaw keeps cutting at hand speed with the same mining tier and drops, spending nothing. It hits like a diamond axe (6 damage) without spending EU, the enchanting table treats it as an axe, and log stripping is not supported — use an ordinary axe for that. The Diamond-Tipped upgrade raises cutting speed to 10.5 and adds switchable Silk Touch for leaves.

Place a diamond axe in the centre of a crafting grid, a battery on each side, an electronic circuit between two copper coils below, and three iron ingots across the top. The diamond axe sets the mining tier, the batteries' charge carries over into the finished Electric Chainsaw, and the recipe unlocks once you own a copper coil, an electronic circuit, or a diamond axe.

With at least 30 EU aboard, the Electric Chainsaw cuts everything an axe should at speed 9.0 against a diamond axe's 8.0 — trunk and canopy alike, because leaves sit on the same tool rule as wood. Each block broken costs 30 EU, so one full charge fells about 333 blocks of forest.

Clear the canopy for free
Instant-break blocks — leaves in most configurations, saplings, vines — cost 0 EU, exactly as they never wear out a vanilla axe. In creative mode no EU is spent at all, and attacking with the Electric Chainsaw (6 damage, like a diamond axe) never spends charge either.

Below 30 EU the Electric Chainsaw keeps its mining tier and drops but cuts at hand speed and spends nothing, so it never stops you mid-job. The second tier (alaindustrial:electric_chainsaw_diamond_tip) raises cutting speed to 10.5 and adds switchable Silk Touch for leaves on sneak + right-click — normal mode still drops saplings, so a felled forest can be replanted. The buffer, the 30 EU per block cost, and the 32 EU/t intake are unchanged, and the chainsaw's charge carries over into the upgrade.
