Cupronickel Ingot
Cupronickel Ingot is the one-to-one copper-and-nickel alloy of Ala Industrial, smelted only in the Alloy Smelter at 1200 EU per ingot.
Description
In material terms Cupronickel Ingot is the gentlest way to spend nickel: one cheap copper ingot per alloy ingot, against the two iron ingots that Invar costs, while the nickel bill stays at one ingot either way. Note the melting loss — two ingots go in and one comes out, which is deliberate for every alloy of the smelter and the reason one ingot carries the full 1200 EU price against 600 EU per ingot for Bronze. In the current release no recipe in Ala Industrial consumes cupronickel yet: alloy plates, tools and components are planned as separate work, so smelt on demand instead of stockpiling — nickel is still wanted by the Electronic Circuit. The alloy itself is also known as melchior, the classic copper-nickel blend.

How to make a Cupronickel Ingot in Ala Industrial
-
1
Build and power an Alloy Smelter
Craft the Alloy Smelter and connect it to your generator or cable network — the machine draws 8 EU/t while smelting.
-
2
Load one copper and one nickel ingot
Place a copper ingot in any input slot and a nickel ingot in any other. Slot order does not matter, and other mods' ingots work through the common c:ingots tags.
-
3
Let the smelter run 150 ticks
One operation takes 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds) and consumes 1200 EU from the machine's buffer.
-
4
Collect the finished ingot
Take the Cupronickel Ingot from the output slot. It stacks up to 64 and has no ore, dust or storage-block form.
No recipe in the current Ala Industrial release consumes cupronickel — alloy plates, tools and components are planned for a later update, so smelt only what you need while nickel is in demand for Electronic Circuits.

Frequently asked questions
How do you make a Cupronickel Ingot?
Load one copper ingot and one nickel ingot into an Alloy Smelter. One operation costs 1200 EU, lasts 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds), and yields exactly one ingot.
Is there cupronickel ore in Ala Industrial?
No. Cupronickel exists only as the smelter's alloy: there is no ore, no dust form, and no vanilla furnace recipe for it.
What is the Cupronickel Ingot used for?
Nothing in the current release: no recipe in the mod consumes it yet. Alloy plates, tools and components are planned, so the ingot is an end-of-line material for now.
Is the Cupronickel Ingot renewable?
No. Copper has no renewable source, both input ingots are consumed per smelt, and two ingots of metal turn into just one of alloy.
Cupronickel or Invar — which spends less metal?
Both alloys cost one nickel ingot each. Cupronickel adds a single copper ingot, while Invar needs two iron ingots, so cupronickel is the cheaper second metal.
Do copper ingots from other mods work?
Yes. The recipe reads the common c:ingots/copper and c:ingots/nickel tags, so any mod's ingots are accepted, and the result is tagged c:ingots/cupronickel for other machines.
