Crystal Seedbed is the block of the Ala Industrial mod on which real vanilla amethyst clusters grow — only inside a formed greenhouse run by a Greenhouse Controller. The seedbed is crafted on a vanilla crafting table from four quartz and four smooth basalt set around one block of amethyst at the centre. The recipe comes out dead: grey crystalline stone, vanilla budding amethyst with the colour gone. Right-click the dead bed with an amethyst shard and Crystal Seedbed wakes and starts bearing: one shard charges one bud, sixteen buds fit in the queue, and a block of amethyst counts as four shards. An almost-full bed refuses the block rather than burning three quarters of a scarce item; single shards are always accepted. Clusters grow on the free faces through the vanilla stages — small bud, medium bud, large bud, cluster — and a pickaxe on a ripe cluster returns four shards with Fortune applying.

Growth is probabilistic: every 100 ticks (5 seconds) each Crystal Seedbed rolls its own die, and one crystal takes four growth events — about an hour and a half with no accelerators. Water in the room divides the wait by three, EU power by two, a Sprinkler with nutrient solution adds more; none is required. The Greenhouse Controller can take up to 32 EU per tick (LV) and pays 64 EU only for a growth event that actually happened. The return is fourfold: one shard comes back as four, and a full charge of 16 buds returns 64 shards over roughly a day of a loaded chunk. Crystal Seedbed never ticks on its own — only the Greenhouse Controller does — so a hundred-bed farm adds one ticking object to the world. A broken Crystal Seedbed always drops dead — the charge is spent time — and Crystal Seedbed works identically on Fabric and NeoForge in Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition.
