Description

Copper Dust is the ground form of copper in the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft 26.2 (Java Edition). The Macerator produces it: one copper ore, deepslate copper ore, or raw copper grinds into two Copper Dust, while a finished copper ingot or copper plate grinds into one. Each grind costs 300 EU and takes 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds). The Macerator is an LV machine (low voltage, up to 32 EU per tick) with an internal buffer of 800 EU, and copper ore from other tech mods works too because the recipe reads the shared c:ores/copper tag — the output is always Ala Industrial dust.

Unlike most mod dusts, Copper Dust smelts even in a vanilla furnace (200 ticks, 0.5 experience): the Electric Furnace returns an ingot for 200 EU, and the Compressor presses one dust straight into an ingot for 260 EU — no blasting recipe exists. The ingots feed copper cables (three ingots craft three cables), copper plates, and the bronze and cupronickel alloys, so grinding instead of direct-smelting doubles every copper vein you mine. The supply stays renewable because Drowned drop copper ingots and one ingot grinds into one Copper Dust, a tier-1 Ala Industrial villager buys 12 dust for one emerald, and other tech mods can consume the dust through the shared c:dusts/copper tag. On Fabric and NeoForge Copper Dust behaves identically.

How to get Copper Dust from copper ore in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Build and power a Macerator

The Macerator is an LV machine (low voltage, up to 32 EU per tick) with an internal buffer of 800 EU. Connect a cable from a generator or a Battery Box and let the buffer charge.

  2. 2

Grind copper ore for double yield

Feed the Macerator copper ore, deepslate copper ore, or raw copper. Each input becomes two Copper Dust after 150 ticks (about 7.5 seconds) at 300 EU per operation.

  3. 3

    Smelt the dust into ingots

Load the Copper Dust into the Electric Furnace for 200 EU per ingot, or a vanilla furnace (200 ticks). The Compressor can also press one dust straight into an ingot for 260 EU — a blast furnace has no recipe.

  4. 4

    Spend the copper

Three copper ingots craft three Copper Cables for an LV line, plates come from the Forge Hammer or the Compressor, and three ingots plus one tin ingot alloy into two bronze ingots in the Alloy Smelter.

  5. 5

    Sell the surplus

A tier-1 Ala Industrial villager trade buys 12 Copper Dust for one emerald — the output of six ground copper ores — and the trade is available 16 times before it locks.

No free doubling

A finished copper ingot grinds into a single Copper Dust, and smelting that dust returns a single ingot. The loop is strictly net-zero, so ore blocks and raw copper are the only inputs worth doubling.

Frequently asked questions

How many Copper Dust does one copper ore give?

Two. The Macerator grinds one copper ore, deepslate copper ore, or raw copper into two Copper Dust for 300 EU, doubling the ore exactly like iron and gold ores.

Can you smelt Copper Dust in a vanilla furnace?

Yes. Copper Dust is one of the few Ala Industrial dusts with a vanilla furnace recipe: 200 ticks and 0.5 experience per ingot. The Electric Furnace smelts it for 200 EU, but a blast furnace has no dust recipe.

Is Copper Dust renewable?

Yes. Drowned drop copper ingots as a renewable source, and one ingot grinds into one Copper Dust, so the dust supply never runs out.

Does a copper ingot give two Copper Dust too?

No. A finished ingot or plate grinds into a single Copper Dust, which keeps the ingot-dust-ingot loop net-zero and rules out free duplication.

What is Copper Dust used for?

Smelt Copper Dust into copper ingots for cables, plates, and the bronze and cupronickel alloys, trade 12 dust to an Ala Industrial villager for one emerald, or let other tech mods consume it through the c:dusts/copper tag.
