Chorus Fruit
Chorus Fruit is an edible End drop that teleports you up to 8 blocks when eaten and smelts into popped chorus fruit for purpur blocks and end rods.
Description
Chorus Fruit becomes a crafting material once smelted in a furnace into popped chorus fruit, the ingredient for purpur blocks (four popped chorus fruit make four purpur blocks) and end rods (four popped chorus fruit plus one blaze rod). Players keep Chorus Fruit on the hotbar as an emergency escape tool when cornered by mobs or stuck on a ledge, since the random teleport can pull you out of danger. Chorus Fruit works identically in Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, both having added it with the End update in version 1.9.
Minecraft Guide
How to get and use Chorus Fruit in Minecraft
-
1
Travel to the outer End
Cross the End gateway portals from the central island to reach the outer End islands where chorus plants grow on End stone.
-
2
Harvest the chorus plant
Break the purple chorus plant stems with any tool or your hand; each stem can drop Chorus Fruit, and chorus flowers let the plant regrow.
-
3
Eat for a random teleport
Hold use on Chorus Fruit to eat it; you teleport to a random solid block within 8 blocks and restore 4 hunger points.
-
4
Smelt into popped chorus fruit
Place Chorus Fruit in a furnace with any fuel to cook it into popped chorus fruit, the crafting form of the item.
-
5
Craft purpur blocks or end rods
Use four popped chorus fruit for four purpur blocks, or four popped chorus fruit plus one blaze rod to craft four end rods.
Chorus Fruit only teleports you to a spot with air above a solid block; if no valid landing exists within 8 blocks, nothing happens. The destination is always random, so it cannot be aimed.
