Description
Chorus plants grow exclusively on the outer islands of the End dimension, forming tall tree-like structures with branching purple-grey stalks and chorus flowers at their tips. Breaking any segment of the plant causes all connected segments above to drop as items — so severing the base clears the entire structure at once.
Chorus fruit drops from the plant when any segment is broken. Eating it restores four hunger points and teleports the player up to eight blocks in a random horizontal or vertical direction, ignoring the normal line-of-sight requirement. This makes it dangerous near ledges but useful for escaping trapped situations or crossing short gaps.
Smelting chorus fruit produces popped chorus fruit, the ingredient for purpur blocks and end rods. Purpur is the primary decorative material of end cities and can be crafted into slabs and stairs. End rods serve as slim, orientation-free light sources that emit level 14.
Chorus plants cannot survive on any surface other than End stone. They can be grown from chorus flowers placed on End stone in any dimension, making it possible to farm them in the Overworld inside an End stone enclosure.
