Soul Campfire
Soul Campfire burns blue, repels piglins, and deals double damage — the haunted Nether Update variant crafted with soul sand or soul soil.
Description
Soul Campfire deals 2 damage points per tick to any entity standing on it — double the regular campfire's 1 — making Soul Campfire a stronger passive mob trap. Crucially, piglins are terrified of soul fire, so a Soul Campfire placed near a Nether base forms a no-go zone that piglins refuse to cross. Soul Campfire also cooks up to four pieces of raw food at once and, with a hay bale placed beneath it, sends a smoke signal up to 24 blocks high. The haunting blue glow makes Soul Campfire a favourite for spooky builds, ruined portals, and Nether-themed décor.

How to craft and use a Soul Campfire in Minecraft
-
1
Gather the ingredients
Collect three sticks, three logs of any wood type, and one block of soul sand or soul soil. No coal is needed — the soul block replaces the regular campfire's fuel slot.
-
2
Craft the Soul Campfire
On the 3x3 crafting grid, place one stick in the top-middle slot, a stick on each side of the middle row, soul sand or soul soil in the centre, and three logs across the bottom row.
-
3
Place and light it
Set the Soul Campfire on any solid surface; it lights automatically with blue soul fire and emits a light level of 10.
-
4
Cook food or send a signal
Right-click raw food onto the Soul Campfire to cook up to four items at once, or place a hay bale beneath it to raise the smoke column to 24 blocks as a signal fire.
Piglins flee from soul fire, so a Soul Campfire near a Nether base creates a passive zone piglins refuse to enter. Any entity standing on it takes 2 damage per tick — double a normal campfire.
