Description

Silver Gear is a crafting component from the Ala Industrial mod for Minecraft Java Edition 26.2, produced on a 3×3 grid from 4 silver ingots in a cross (north, east, south, west) around 1 Wooden Gear in the center. The cross layout consumes 4 silver ingots and returns exactly 1 Silver Gear. Silver ore and deepslate silver ore drop raw silver: smelting or blasting gives 1 silver ingot, and maceration doubles the output to 2 silver dust — 2 ingots. Holding a Wooden Gear and a silver ingot together reveals the Silver Gear recipe in the recipe book. Silver Gear stacks to 64, consumes no EU, and completes the four-member gear family — stone, iron, gold, silver. The Silver Gear is the only family member made from a metal the mod itself adds, so silver gains a second use beyond the Silver Chest.

Three recipes in the mod spend the Silver Gear. The Diamond-Tipped Electric Drill upgrade combines 3 Diamond Dust, 2 Invar Ingots, the Electric Drill, and 1 Silver Gear in the slot beneath the tool; the parallel chainsaw upgrade takes a Gold Gear, so the two tool branches never compete for the same metal. The Advanced Water Wheel spends 1 Silver Gear with 2 Tempered Iron Plates, 1 Electronic Circuit, 2 Copper Ingots, and 1 Reinforced Water Wheel. The Advanced Rotor swaps in 2 Copper Cables and 1 Reinforced Rotor. The Silver Gear is fully renewable: the Incubator turns 1 silver ingot plus 4000 EU into 2 silver ingots at 45% per operation, and the Wooden Gear comes from farmed wood. No villager sells the Silver Gear: the Industrialist only buys 3 silver ingots for 1 emerald, so crafting stays the only source. Spending 4 silver ingots on one Silver Gear competes with roughly 1.33 emeralds of villager income.

Guide

How to craft a Silver Gear in Ala Industrial

  1. 1

    Stock up on silver

Mine silver ore or deepslate silver ore and process the raw silver: smelting or blasting yields 1 silver ingot, while maceration doubles the yield to 2 silver dust, which smelts into 2 silver ingots.

  2. 2

    Craft the Wooden Gear

Place 4 sticks in a cross (north, east, south, west) around 1 wooden button in the center of the 3×3 grid to craft the Wooden Gear.

  3. 3

    Assemble the cross

Set 4 silver ingots into the north, east, south, and west slots of the 3×3 grid and place the Wooden Gear in the center to output exactly 1 Silver Gear.

  4. 4

    Unlock the recipe book

Hold a Wooden Gear and a silver ingot at the same time and the Silver Gear recipe appears in the recipe book for repeated crafting.

  5. 5

    Spend the Silver Gear

Use the Silver Gear in the Diamond-Tipped Electric Drill upgrade, the Advanced Water Wheel, or the Advanced Rotor — each recipe needs exactly 1 Silver Gear.

Java-only mod

The Ala Industrial mod runs only in Minecraft Java Edition 26.2, on both the Fabric and NeoForge loaders, and behaves identically on each.

Frequently asked questions

What is the exact Silver Gear recipe in Ala Industrial?

Place 4 silver ingots in the north, east, south, and west slots of a 3×3 crafting grid and 1 Wooden Gear in the center; the craft outputs exactly 1 Silver Gear.

Which recipes consume the Silver Gear?

Three recipes consume exactly 1 Silver Gear each: the Diamond-Tipped Electric Drill upgrade, the Advanced Water Wheel for the Water Mill, and the Advanced Rotor for the Wind Mill.

Is the Silver Gear renewable?

Yes. The Incubator converts 1 silver ingot plus 4000 EU into 2 silver ingots with a 45% chance per operation, and Wooden Gears come from farmed wood, so production never runs out.

Do any villagers sell the Silver Gear?

No. The Industrialist villager only buys silver ingots at 3 ingots per emerald and never sells the Silver Gear, so crafting remains the only source.

Which versions and loaders support the Silver Gear?

The Silver Gear exists only in Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 through the Ala Industrial mod, runs identically on the Fabric and NeoForge loaders, and stacks to 64.
