Polished Tuff
Polished Tuff is the smooth dark-grey decorative variant of Tuff, crafted 4-up from Tuff blocks for flat, modernist floors and fireproof monument walls.
Description
Builders reach for Polished Tuff whenever a project needs a darker, quieter alternative to Stone or Deepslate without the busy speckle of raw Tuff. Polished Tuff pairs naturally with Tuff Bricks, Tuff Slabs, and the matching stairs family for coherent stair-and-slab trim, and the even face accepts Chiseled Tuff accents as a contrast band. The block is non-renewable, so survival players should stockpile Tuff from Trial Chambers and deep biomes before committing Polished Tuff to large floors. Mine every variant with a pickaxe to keep the drop, and combine Polished Tuff with copper or amethyst for a cold, mineral palette that few other stone families match.

Crafting Guide
How to craft and use Polished Tuff in Minecraft
-
1
Gather Tuff blocks
Mine Tuff with a pickaxe in deep underground biomes or Trial Chambers; each Tuff drops only when broken with a pickaxe.
-
2
Open a crafting table
Place a crafting table and right-click it to open the 3x3 grid where the Polished Tuff recipe fits.
-
3
Fill a 2x2 square with Tuff
Put four Tuff blocks in any 2x2 corner of the grid to craft four Polished Tuff blocks in return.
-
4
Mine with a pickaxe
Always break Polished Tuff with a pickaxe so the block drops; mining by hand yields nothing.
-
5
Build and combine
Lay Polished Tuff for flat floors and pair it with Tuff Bricks, Polished Tuff Stairs, or Chiseled Tuff for coordinated trim.
Polished Tuff is non-renewable, so stockpile Tuff from Trial Chambers before starting large survival builds.

Any pickaxe works. Polished Tuff drops as an item when broken with any tier of pickaxe, but mining it by hand drops nothing.

What is the blast resistance of Polished Tuff?
Polished Tuff has a blast resistance of 6 and a hardness of 1.5, and the block is fully fireproof against creepers, TNT, and lava.
