Description

Moonlit Solar Panel is the T2 (second-tier) night generator from Ala Industrial that produces 3 EU/t under an open sky after dark and falls silent during the day. An internal buffer of 8000 EU holds the harvested energy, and the panel pushes up to 20 EU/t out over a low-voltage (LV) line through its four sides and bottom. The panel is obtained only through evolution — drop a Lunar Evolution Chip onto a base Solar Panel and let it run for about 33,600 active night ticks; it cannot be crafted in a table.

Unlike the day branch, the Moonlit Solar Panel keeps a signature 1 EU/t trickle flowing even in rain, thunder, or snow, so a night-powered workshop never fully blacks out in a storm. Glass above the panel does not block output, but leaves or a snow layer reduce generation, and any opaque block over the top working face shuts the panel down. Pair the night panel with a Battery Box and a Daylight Solar Panel, and the LV network runs around the clock — one panel charges while the other sleeps.

How to get and use a Moonlit Solar Panel in Minecraft

  1. 1

Start from a base Solar Panel

Begin with a base Solar Panel, the neutral T1 generator that every solar branch evolves from.

  2. 2

    Obtain a Lunar Evolution Chip

Acquire a Lunar (night) Evolution Chip, the component that selects the night branch during evolution.

  3. 3

Place the panel under open night sky

Set the Solar Panel outside under a clear view of the sky in the Overworld; the top face is the working surface, so keep it uncovered.

  4. 4

    Insert the chip and wait

Drop in the Lunar Evolution Chip and let the panel run for roughly 33,600 active night ticks; stored energy carries over when the panel transforms.

  5. 5

Wire the evolved panel to storage

Connect the Moonlit Solar Panel's side or bottom face to a Copper Cable leading into a Battery Box so the 8000 EU buffer drains into storage.

No crafting recipe

Moonlit Solar Panel cannot be crafted at a table — evolution from a base Solar Panel with a Lunar Evolution Chip is the only source.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get a Moonlit Solar Panel?

Evolve a base Solar Panel with a Lunar Evolution Chip. Let the panel work for about 33,600 active night ticks under open sky, and it transforms into a Moonlit Solar Panel; it cannot be crafted.

How much EU does the Moonlit Solar Panel generate?

The panel produces 3 EU/t on a clear night under open sky and keeps a 1 EU/t trickle during rain, thunder, or snow. Output is zero during the day.

Does the Moonlit Solar Panel work in rain or thunder?

Yes — the night branch keeps producing 1 EU/t in bad weather, unlike the day and base panels, which drop to zero in a storm.

What tier and voltage is the Moonlit Solar Panel?

It is a T2 (second-tier) LV (low-voltage) generator with an 8000 EU internal buffer and up to 20 EU/t output on a low-voltage line.

Can you craft a Moonlit Solar Panel?

No. The only way to obtain one is to evolve a base Solar Panel using a Lunar Evolution Chip; there is no crafting-table recipe.
