How to Make Drill in Minecraft

The IC2 Drill is the basic electric mining tool from Industrial Craft 2 Experimental, designed to replace an iron pickaxe with a faster, energy-powered alternative. The Drill breaks stone, cobblestone, and iron, gold, redstone, diamond, and emerald ores at the iron mining tier; obsidian is the one block that needs the Diamond Drill. The Drill has no durability and never wears out, and it deals +2 attack damage as a weapon. On stone and cobblestone, the IC2 Drill is roughly two to three times faster than an iron pickaxe. The Drill runs on EU (Energy Units) with an internal storage of 30,000 EU and consumes 50 EU per block mined — 600 blocks per full charge. Players charge the Drill in a Batbox, Generator, MFE, or MFSU at Low Voltage (32 EU/t).

Right-clicking with the Drill places a Torch from your inventory, keeping tunnels lit without switching items. The Drill is crafted from six Iron Plates and one Power Unit on a crafting table: the Power Unit sits in the bottom-center cell, while Iron Plates fill the top-center cell, the middle row, and the two bottom corners. Iron Plates are hammered from iron ingots at a 1:1 ratio with the Forge Hammer; the Power Unit takes three RE Batteries, two Copper Cables, two Iron Casings, one Electronic Circuit, and one Electric Motor. Holding right-click with a single RE Battery in hand recharges the Drill in the field.
