Placement decides everything: component venting reaches only the adjacent slots, so position the Component Heat Vent directly next to the parts that need cooling most. Pair the Component Heat Vent with a Heat Vent. The Heat Vent removes heat from the Nuclear Reactor itself and vents 6 hU/s, exactly the job the Component Heat Vent leaves undone. The base Heat Vent also crafts into Reactor Heat Vent, Advanced Heat Vent, and Overclocked Heat Vent, giving one crafting chain for every vent type an IC2 reactor build needs.
