Hopper
Hopper transports items between containers automatically — the workhorse of every storage system, sorter, and farm in Minecraft.
Description
The transfer rate is steady — one item every four ticks (5 items per second) — which sounds slow but compounds beautifully across long chains. Connect a furnace's output to a chest via a hopper, and the chest fills automatically as smelting completes; chain three or four hoppers in a row, and items sort themselves at the end. Combined with item filters made from comparators and named items, this single component enables complete automated storage systems, mob-XP collectors, and shulker-box loaders. Right-click opens the device's interface to inspect or seed its contents manually.
