How to craft a Honeycomb Block in Minecraft
-
1
Collect honeycombs
Use shears on a bee nest or beehive when its honey level shows 5, and place a campfire underneath so the bees stay calm while you harvest.
-
2
Open the crafting grid
Right-click a crafting table to open the 3x3 grid; the 2x2 grid in your inventory also works for this recipe.
-
3
Place four honeycombs
Fill any 2x2 square with four honeycombs to produce one Honeycomb Block.
-
4
Place the block
Put the Honeycomb Block into your build; it breaks instantly by hand if you ever need to move it.
Crafting a Honeycomb Block is irreversible — you cannot turn it back into honeycombs, so keep spare honeycombs for waxing copper.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft a Honeycomb Block?
Place four honeycombs in a 2x2 crafting grid. This makes one Honeycomb Block and works in both Java and Bedrock Edition.
Is the Honeycomb Block renewable?
Yes. Honeycombs come from bee nests and beehives, which bees keep refilling, so you can farm the block endlessly.
Does the Honeycomb Block do anything functional?
No. It is purely decorative — it does not slow players, store items, or interact with redstone.
What version added the Honeycomb Block?
It was added in Java Edition 1.15 (Buzzy Bees) and Bedrock Edition 1.14.
Can you turn a Honeycomb Block back into honeycombs?
No. The recipe is one-way, so keep loose honeycombs for waxing copper or crafting candles.
