Description
Heavy Core is one of the few items in Minecraft obtainable only through direct dungeon exploration, not crafting or trading. It drops exclusively from Ominous Vaults — the reinforced reward containers in Trial Chambers that require an Ominous Trial Key. The drop rate is low, so players often clear multiple Ominous Trials across several chamber visits before collecting one.
Combining a Heavy Core with a Breeze Rod on a crafting table creates the Mace, a new weapon type introduced in version 1.21. The Mace has a fall-damage bonus mechanic: landing a hit immediately after dropping from a height multiplies damage based on how far the player fell, then resets the charge. This makes it devastating in aerial combat but situational in flat fights. Because the ingredient is rare and tied to active dungeon gameplay, the Mace is regarded as a prestige weapon that rewards exploration skill rather than resource grinding.
