Description
Ominous Trial Key is the upgraded variant of the regular Trial Key, available only during an Ominous Trial — the harder mode activated when a player enters a Trial Chamber while under the Bad Omen effect. During that event, Trial Spawners produce stronger mob variants and have a chance to drop this enhanced key instead of the standard one.
Its sole purpose is opening Ominous Vaults — the reinforced loot containers found in Trial Chambers that require exactly this key. Those containers draw from a better loot pool than standard Vaults and are the only reliable source of the Heavy Core, the crafting component for the Mace weapon. The Bad Omen effect is applied by drinking an Ominous Bottle or by raiding a pillager outpost, so collecting these keys requires deliberate preparation. Players who want the Mace without grinding standard runs should activate Bad Omen before entering to maximize the Ominous drop rate per session.
