Description

Black Wool comes from shearing an adult black sheep, which yields 1-3 wool, or from killing an unsheared black sheep for a single drop. Black sheep spawn most often in cold biomes, though every sheep color can appear in any biome at a low rate. Any wool color also turns into Black Wool when combined with an Ink Sac in the crafting grid, and Black Wool itself can be re-dyed into any of the other fifteen colors later. Black sheep regrow their fleece by grazing grass blocks or short grass, so a small pen keeps the supply renewable. Black Wool also generates naturally inside woodland mansions, since every color except magenta, pink, and purple appears there.

Black Wool crafts into beds, carpets, banners, paintings, and harnesses, matching the base color each recipe calls for. Stacked to 64 per slot, Black Wool suits dark roofing, silhouette accents, and shadow trim on builds that mix several wool colors. Placed between a sculk sensor and a vibration source, Black Wool blocks the signal completely, and the same wool muffles note block sound so nearby allays cannot hear the tune, useful for hiding redstone contraptions from Deep Dark mobs.
