Arrow
Arrow is the standard ammunition for bows, crossbows, dispensers, and many combat farms.
Description
The projectile flies in an arc, can be recovered from some surfaces, and interacts with many enchantments through the weapon that fires it. Dispensers use arrows for traps, target practice, mob farms, and adventure-map hazards. Later, tipped and spectral variants expand the same base item into potion delivery, glowing targets, and specialised combat setups.

How to craft and use an Arrow in Minecraft
-
1
Gather flint, stick, and feather
Collect one flint by mining gravel, one stick from two planks, and one feather dropped by chickens.
-
2
Craft four arrows
Place the flint on top, the stick in the middle, and the feather on the bottom of the crafting grid to make four arrows at once.
-
3
Load a bow or crossbow
Keep arrows in the inventory and hold a bow to charge a shot; a crossbow loads a single arrow per shot and stays loaded until fired.
-
4
Recover and reuse arrows
Pick up arrows that stick into blocks or the ground in Survival, unless they were fired by a dispenser or an Infinity bow.
An Infinity-enchanted bow only needs one arrow and never consumes it, but Infinity does not work on crossbows or with tipped and spectral arrows.

Frequently asked questions
How do you craft an arrow in Minecraft?
Place one flint, one stick, and one feather vertically in the crafting grid to craft four arrows at once.
Can you pick arrows back up?
Yes. Arrows fired by a normal bow can be collected after they land, but arrows shot from dispensers or an Infinity bow cannot be retrieved.
Do skeletons drop arrows?
Yes. Skeletons and strays commonly drop arrows, so a skeleton farm gives a near-endless arrow supply.
What is the difference between a tipped arrow and a spectral arrow?
Tipped arrows apply a potion effect on hit, while spectral arrows give the Glowing effect that outlines the target through walls.
Does the Infinity enchantment save arrows?
An Infinity bow fires unlimited regular arrows from a single arrow, but it still consumes tipped and spectral arrows normally.
