Weathered Copper is the third oxidation stage — mostly seafoam green with rusty orange patches still visible across the texture.
Description
Reaching this stage by random tick takes substantial real-time playtime; most builders accelerate the process with axe-removed waxed sequences (placing pre-oxidized blocks they previously waxed from earlier sessions) or by leaving large stockpiles of fresh copper exposed in a corner of their world for thousands of in-game ticks. Once arrived at the stage, a single honeycomb application locks it permanently. The full variant family — stairs, slabs, cut block, cut stairs, cut slabs — is available, and a nearby lightning bolt or four axe scrapes return the surface to fresh copper if a builder changes their mind.

Obtain Exposed Copper first
Weathered Copper cannot be crafted directly. Place a regular Copper Block and let it oxidize one stage to Exposed Copper over roughly 50–82 in-game days, or find Exposed Copper blocks already generated in the world.

Wait for the second oxidation tick
Once you have Exposed Copper, leave it exposed to the sky or open air. After another 50–82 in-game days on average, random ticks will advance it to Weathered Copper. Placing already-oxidized copper blocks nearby speeds up the process.

Wax the block to lock oxidation
Right-click (Java) or use a Honeycomb item on the Weathered Copper block to apply wax. The block will show a subtle sheen and will never oxidize further or revert — ideal for builds where you want the seafoam-green look to stay.

Scrape or craft variants
Use an Axe on a Weathered Copper block to scrape one stage back to Exposed Copper. Alternatively, place 4 Weathered Copper blocks in a 2×2 crafting grid to get 4 Cut Weathered Copper. Use a Stonecutter for Weathered Copper Stairs, Slabs, Grate (1.21+), Chiseled Copper (1.21+), and Copper Bulb (1.21+).

Weathered Copper suits aged structures, steampunk machinery, coastal buildings, and brutalist architecture. Combine waxed Weathered Copper panels with stone or dark wood for an industrial-rustic contrast.
A lightning bolt hitting near unwaxed Weathered Copper will reset all copper blocks in the area to unoxidized Copper Block. Always wax copper in outdoor builds to protect its oxidation stage.
