Weathered Copper Grate is the third oxidation stage of the Copper Grate family, crafted from four Weathered Copper Blocks arranged in a plus pattern that skips the center and corners, and the recipe yields four grates at once. A stonecutter turns a single Weathered Copper Block into four Weathered Copper Grate blocks instead, skipping the crafting-grid layout entirely. Weathered Copper Grate is see-through, so two identical grates of the same oxidation and wax stage placed side by side disappear from view through each other, and the grate stays just as transparent when waterlogged. Mining the grate needs a stone pickaxe or better; bare-handed breaking drops nothing at all. Lightning bolts and axes reset the oxidation on an unwaxed grate, scraping Weathered Copper Grate back toward the shinier Exposed Copper Grate stage.

Weathered Copper Grate does not conduct redstone, and mobs cannot spawn on top of the grate, so a floor built from the grate doubles as a safe, spawn-proof walkway or window grille. A honeycomb applied to Weathered Copper Grate locks in the current look as Waxed Weathered Copper Grate, stopping further darkening into the Oxidized Copper Grate stage, useful when a build's greenish patina should stop right at this shade. Trial chambers generate waxed copper grates of mixed oxidation stages, including Waxed Weathered Copper Grate, as wall-mounted walkways between rooms, often ending in a chest-guarded dead end.
