How to get Turtle Scute in Minecraft
-
1
Find sea turtles
Sea turtles spawn on warm beach biomes in groups of 2-6; locate at least two adults on the sand.
-
2
Breed with seagrass
Hold seagrass in hand and right-click two adult turtles to enter love mode; one returns to its home beach.
-
3
Wait for eggs
The pregnant turtle lays 1-4 eggs in a sand block; protect them from zombies and trampling mobs.
-
4
Hatch and grow babies
Eggs hatch at night after several stages; feed each baby turtle seagrass to speed growth toward adulthood.
-
5
Collect Turtle Scute on growth
When a baby turtle matures into an adult, it drops exactly 1 Turtle Scute on the sand; pick it up.
Adult turtles drop nothing on death and baby turtles drop nothing either; Turtle Scute is awarded only by the growth event, so let babies mature naturally.
