Torchflower Seeds are a non-craftable item dropped by a Sniffer, the passive archaeology mob that hatches from a Sniffer Egg found in warm ocean ruins. Each time a Sniffer finishes digging in dirt, grass, podzol, moss, or mud, there is a roughly 50% chance one Torchflower Seed is produced, making the item fully renewable. Torchflower Seeds stack to 64 and have zero hardness and zero blast resistance, so any tool or an empty hand harvests the crop instantly. The seeds are compostable, with a 30% chance to raise a composter's level by one.

Players plant Torchflower Seeds on farmland to grow the decorative Torchflower block, the signature flower of the Trail Tales update. The crop advances through three growth stages, and breaking the mature stage drops one Torchflower block rather than a seed. Torchflower Seeds were introduced in Java Edition 1.19.4 and Bedrock Edition 1.19.70, and crops require a light level of at least 9 to keep growing. A Sniffer farm paired with farmland rows turns Torchflower Seeds into an endless supply of orange flowers for flower-forest builds, dyes, and decorative gardens.
