Resonant Shard
Resonant Shard is an advanced mutation material that only the Incubator can produce from an amethyst shard.
Description
Today Resonant Shard is best treated as a collection piece rather than a workhorse ingredient. Ala Industrial ships only the first rung of its optics ladder in this release, so the shard stacks to 64 in a chest but no recipe in the current version consumes it — the focusing-lens tier it feeds is planned, not implemented. There is no way to reverse a shard back into an amethyst, so every failed attempt is final. For players on Minecraft 26.2 running Ala Industrial on Fabric or NeoForge, the practical move is to stockpile a few shards while farming the Incubator for depleted uranium, then wait for the higher tiers that actually spend them.

How to get a Resonant Shard in Ala Industrial
-
1
Build and power an Incubator
Craft an Incubator and connect it to a generator or battery that can deliver 8000 EU, because one creation cycle drains the machine's full 8000 EU buffer at 8 EU per tick over 1000 ticks.
-
2
Load a uranium ingot as fuel
Place a uranium ingot in the Incubator's fuel slot; one ingot funds three mutation attempts and then converts into depleted uranium in the ash slot.
-
3
Insert a Creation chip
Put a Creation chip in the chip slot so the machine runs in creation mode — the only program that turns an amethyst shard into a Resonant Shard.
-
4
Feed in an amethyst shard
Drop an amethyst shard into the input slot and start the cycle. Each attempt has a 25% chance of producing a Resonant Shard, and the shard is lost on the other 75% of attempts.
-
5
Collect the shard and the by-products
Pull the finished Resonant Shard from the output slot, recover depleted uranium from the ash slot for reuse, and discard the irradiated slag left by about 5% of failed attempts.
Resonant Shard stacks to 64, but no recipe in this release of Ala Industrial consumes it — the higher optics-ladder tiers are not implemented yet, so treat the shard as a stockpile material.

Frequently asked questions
How do you get a Resonant Shard?
A Resonant Shard is produced only by the Ala Industrial Incubator: load an amethyst shard, insert a Creation chip, and run an 8000 EU creation cycle that succeeds 25% of the time.
Can you craft a Resonant Shard at a crafting table?
No. There is no shaped or shapeless recipe for it — the Incubator machine is the sole source, and a Resonant Shard cannot be reversed back into an amethyst either.
How much energy does one Resonant Shard cost?
Each creation attempt costs 8000 EU, drawn at 8 EU per tick over 1000 ticks, and a single uranium ingot supplies three attempts before becoming depleted uranium.
What is the Resonant Shard used for?
In the current release it has no consuming recipe. It is the first rung of Ala Industrial's optics ladder, whose higher tiers are planned but not yet implemented.
Is the Resonant Shard renewable?
Not reliably. Making one burns uranium, a mined resource, and only one attempt in four succeeds, so production is limited by how much uranium you can supply.
What stack size does the Resonant Shard have?
Resonant Shard stacks to 64, so a single chest can hold a large stockpile while you wait for the higher-tier recipes that will eventually use it.
