Red Stained Glass is the red variant of Minecraft's dyed glass, crafted by placing 8 glass blocks in a ring around 1 red dye, which yields 8 blocks in a single crafting operation. Red Stained Glass generates in no natural structure, so crafting stays the only source of the red block. Broken without Silk Touch (the enchantment that makes blocks drop themselves), Red Stained Glass drops nothing, and any tool breaks the glass at the same speed, because stained glass has no assigned tool. Red Stained Glass is transparent, emits no light, never catches fire, stacks to 64, and joined Java Edition in version 1.7.2.

Red Stained Glass colors the windows, skylights, and lantern rooms of red-themed builds. Placed anywhere above a beacon, Red Stained Glass turns the beacon's beam red, and white stained glass stacked above the red layer blends the beam toward shades of pink. Mobs treat Red Stained Glass as completely opaque and never see players through the red tint, and mobs cannot normally spawn on the glass surface. Redstone dust sits on Red Stained Glass like on an upside-down slab, and Java Edition carries redstone signals through stained glass upward but not downward. On Bedrock Edition with Education features enabled, Red Stained Glass crafts into Hardened Stained Glass together with aluminum oxide and boron trioxide. The red dye for the recipe comes from a poppy, a red tulip, or a beetroot at 1 dye each, or from a rose bush at 2 dyes.
