Description

Pale Oak Leaves are the pale, greyish-white foliage that grows on pale oak trees in the Pale Garden, a desaturated Overworld biome added in Minecraft 1.21.4 (The Garden Awakens, December 2024) to both Java and Bedrock Edition. Pale Oak Leaves generate naturally across the Pale Garden canopy, giving the biome its washed-out, eerie look. Break Pale Oak Leaves with shears or a Silk Touch tool to collect the block itself; broken by hand or other tools, Pale Oak Leaves instead drop pale oak saplings and sticks at low odds. Unlike Oak Leaves and Dark Oak Leaves, Pale Oak Leaves never drop apples.

Pale Oak Leaves have a hardness and blast resistance of 0.2, are flammable, and can be composted at the usual 30% chance per leaf. Builders use Pale Oak Leaves for wintry, ghostly, and haunted-forest themes where a frosted canopy is needed without placing snow. Pale Oak Leaves placed by a player stay permanent and never decay, so they hold their shape in large custom trees and topiary. Pair Pale Oak Leaves with Pale Oak Log and Pale Hanging Moss to recreate the full Pale Garden atmosphere in survival or creative builds.

How to get Pale Oak Leaves in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Find the Pale Garden

Explore the Overworld for the Pale Garden, a grey, desaturated biome where pale oak trees and Pale Oak Leaves grow.

  2. 2

    Equip shears

Equip shears or a Silk Touch tool so Pale Oak Leaves drop as the full block instead of saplings and sticks.

  3. 3

    Break the leaves

Break Pale Oak Leaves from the canopy; with shears each block breaks almost instantly and drops itself for collection.

  4. 4

    Replant or build

Place Pale Oak Leaves back down for custom trees or wintry canopies — player-placed Pale Oak Leaves never decay.

Version note
