Description

Pale Oak Log is the natural log block of the pale oak tree, added in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4 "The Garden Awakens" and Bedrock Edition 1.21.50 on December 3, 2024. Pale Oak Log generates only in the Pale Garden biome — a desaturated, foggy variant of the Dark Forest filled with pale hanging moss, Creakings, and Creaking Heart blocks. Pale Oak Log carries the lightest, most washed-out bark of any wood type in the game, making this log instantly recognizable next to oak, birch, or cherry. Pale Oak Log breaks fastest with any axe, drops itself, and can be mined by hand if necessary. Pale Oak Log shares the standard log stats — hardness 2, blast resistance 2 — and is flammable, so keep Pale Oak Log away from lava and open flames. Pale Oak Log works as furnace fuel and crafts into 4 Pale Oak Planks per log on a crafting grid. Right-clicking Pale Oak Log with an axe strips the bark and produces Stripped Pale Oak Log, exposing an almost off-white grain prized by builders.

Guide

How to obtain Pale Oak Log in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Locate a Pale Garden biome

Explore Overworld forests until you find the Pale Garden — a desaturated, foggy variant of the Dark Forest with pale hanging moss and Creakings.

  2. 2

    Equip an axe

Any axe mines Pale Oak Log fastest; iron, diamond, or netherride speeds up large harvests, but a wooden axe still works.

  3. 3

    Chop the pale oak tree

Hold attack on the trunk until each Pale Oak Log drops; the tree is tall and sparse, so work from the bottom upward.

  4. 4

Craft 4 Pale Oak Planks per log

Place one Pale Oak Log anywhere in a crafting grid to yield 4 Pale Oak Planks, the base for stairs, slabs, doors, and signs.

  5. 5

    Optionally strip the bark

Right-click Pale Oak Log with an axe to convert it into Stripped Pale Oak Log, exposing a near-white grain ideal for modern builds.
