Description

Nether Brick is a dark reddish-brown decorative block that forms the walls, floors and towers of Nether fortresses in Minecraft. You can mine it with any pickaxe, or craft one block by placing four Nether Brick items in a 2x2 grid. Each Nether Brick item is made by smelting Netherrack in a furnace, so the block is fully renewable without visiting a fortress. With a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 6, Nether Brick survives Ghast fireballs far better than Netherrack, which makes it a popular fireproof building material in the Nether. The block is the base for Nether Brick Stairs, Slabs, Walls, a Nether Brick Fence, Chiseled Nether Bricks, and Red Nether Bricks crafted together with Nether Wart.

How to craft Nether Brick in Minecraft

    Mine Netherrack in the Nether with any pickaxe; one stack provides plenty of raw material.

    Smelt into Nether Brick items

    Place Netherrack in a furnace with fuel to produce Nether Brick items, one per Netherrack.

    Fill a 2x2 grid

    Put four Nether Brick items into the four cells of a 2x2 crafting grid.

    Take the resulting Nether Brick block; four items yield one block.

Tip

Combine one Nether Brick block area with Nether Wart to craft Red Nether Bricks for a darker accent.
