Description

Moss Block generates throughout lush cave biomes as soft green patches across stone walls, ceilings, and floors. The texture is a deep saturated green with a subtle velvety look, suggesting a cushion of overgrown moss. The most important interaction: applying bone meal to the block converts a roughly eleven-block radius of nearby stone, deepslate, dirt, coarse dirt, and rooted dirt into more moss, with smaller plants like azalea and glow lichen also spreading on top — a one-action transformation that can quickly convert a sterile cave section into a thriving lush biome.

The block accepts azalea and flowering azalea trees on top, providing a renewable surface for growing the lush canopy. Below the block, moss carpet forms automatically when a moss block is placed above carpet-compatible terrain. As a building material, the bright green tint pairs aggressively with mangrove planks, mud, oak leaves, and stone for fantasy or fairy-tale themes. Mining is fastest with a hoe, though any tool will eventually work. The block does not generate elsewhere in the world — lush caves are the only natural source.
