Description

Mangrove Slab is a half-height wooden block crafted at a Crafting Table from three Mangrove Planks in a row, which yields six slabs per craft. Mangrove Slab was added in Minecraft 1.19 for Java Edition and Bedrock Edition and became obtainable and renewable (can be farmed endlessly) with the mangrove trees of the Mangrove Swamp. Mangrove Slab has hardness 2 and blast resistance 3 (a measure of how well the block withstands explosions). An axe breaks Mangrove Slab fastest.

Two Mangrove Slabs placed in one block space, one in the top half and one in the bottom half, merge into a double slab that fills the whole block, and breaking the double slab drops two Mangrove Slabs. Mangrove Slab stacks to 64, can be waterlogged (filled with water in its empty half), and goes into the recipes of the Daylight Detector, Barrel, Lectern, and Chiseled Bookshelf as a wooden slab.

How to use Mangrove Slab in Minecraft

    Craft six Mangrove Slabs

    Three Mangrove Planks across one row of the Crafting Table grid produce six Mangrove Slabs.

    Place a bottom or top slab

    A Mangrove Slab placed on top of a block, or on the lower half of a block side, becomes a bottom slab. A Mangrove Slab placed on the underside of a block, or on the upper half of a block side, becomes a top slab.

    Merge two slabs

    A second Mangrove Slab placed in the same block space turns the pair into a double slab that fills the whole block.

    Mine it back with an axe

    An axe removes Mangrove Slab fastest, and breaking a double slab returns two slabs.

Bottom slabs stop mob spawns

Mobs can spawn on top slabs and double slabs but not on bottom slabs, so a floor of bottom Mangrove Slabs keeps mobs from spawning on it.
