Lapis Dust
Lapis Dust is a pigment and chemical reagent obtained by macerating lapis ore, yielding six dust per block at 300 EU.
Description
The main sink for Lapis Dust is the Electric Hoe Diamond Tip upgrade, which spends one dust alongside diamond dust and a cupronickel ingot in a shaped crafting grid. Surplus dust has two outlets: the Compressor turns one dust back into one lapis lazuli for 260 EU, and Ala Industrial's Industrialist villager (tier 2) buys ten Lapis Dust for one emerald across twelve trades. Because lapis itself is renewable through villager trading and the Macerator runs on EU, Lapis Dust is a fully renewable processed material for Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric or NeoForge.

How to make and use Lapis Dust in Minecraft
-
1
Gather lapis ore
Mine lapis ore or deepslate lapis ore with a stone pickaxe or better; each ore block macerates into six Lapis Dust.
-
2
Macerate the ore
Place the lapis ore in a Macerator powered by 300 EU per operation to grind it into Lapis Dust.
-
3
Craft the Electric Hoe Diamond Tip
Put one Lapis Dust in the bottom-center slot with diamond dust, a cupronickel ingot, and an Electric Hoe to forge the upgraded tool.
-
4
Sell or recompress the surplus
Trade ten Lapis Dust to an Industrialist villager for one emerald, or compress one dust back into lapis lazuli for 260 EU.
Lapis Dust cannot be smelted into an ingot — it is a pigment and reagent, not an ore-doubling intermediate like tin or copper dust.

Frequently asked questions
How do you get Lapis Dust in Ala Industrial?
Grind lapis ore or a lapis lazuli gem in the Macerator; one ore yields six Lapis Dust for 300 EU.
Is Lapis Dust a smeltable metal dust?
No. Lapis Dust is a pigment and chemical reagent and cannot be smelted into an ingot.
What is Lapis Dust used for?
It crafts the Electric Hoe Diamond Tip, recompresses into lapis lazuli, and sells to the Industrialist villager at ten dust for one emerald.
Is Lapis Dust renewable?
Yes. Lapis is renewable through villager trading, and the Macerator runs on EU, so the dust can be produced indefinitely.
Does Lapis Dust exist on Bedrock Edition?
No, Ala Industrial is a Java Edition mod for Minecraft 26.2 and does not run on Bedrock.
