Exposed Chiseled Copper is the second of four oxidation stages that chiseled copper passes through in Minecraft, following the unoxidized Chiseled Copper block and coming before Weathered Chiseled Copper and Oxidized Chiseled Copper. Mining Exposed Chiseled Copper requires a stone pickaxe or better; breaking it with bare hands or a wooden pickaxe drops nothing. The block generates naturally inside trial chambers, the dungeon-style structures added alongside chiseled copper in Java Edition 1.21 and Bedrock Edition 1.21.0. At this stage the surface is discolored with the first green spots of oxidation, a visible step past the unoxidized Chiseled Copper block and before the darker green-and-brown Weathered Chiseled Copper that follows.

Exposed Chiseled Copper is crafted by stacking two matching Exposed Cut Copper Slabs (unwaxed or waxed) in a vertical column, or produced at a stonecutter from one Exposed Block of Copper for four blocks, or from a single Exposed Cut Copper block. Applying a Honeycomb to Exposed Chiseled Copper waxes it, locking the surface at this stage so it never weathers or oxidizes further. Lightning bolts and axes reverse the process, stripping the oxidation back toward the unoxidized state. Builders use Exposed Chiseled Copper to add a weathered, two-tone texture to trial chamber-themed builds, roofs, and copper facades without waiting for full oxidation to spread.
