Eye of Ender
Eye of Ender locates strongholds and activates End portals using blaze powder and pearls.
Description
The item is also inserted into End portal frames, and a full ring of twelve filled frames opens access to the End dimension. Because some frames generate pre-filled, the required number varies, but players usually bring extras. It also crafts end crystals, linking the same ingredient to dragon respawns and late-game obsidian arena projects.

How to use an Eye of Ender in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the eye
Place one ender pearl and one blaze powder anywhere in a crafting grid to make one Eye of Ender.
-
2
Throw it to find a stronghold
Use the Eye of Ender in the Overworld; it floats toward the nearest stronghold, then drops to the ground or shatters with about a 20% break chance per throw.
-
3
Triangulate the portal room
Re-throw an Eye of Ender every 30–50 blocks and follow it until the eye hovers and dives downward, marking the stronghold buried below.
-
4
Fill the End portal frames
Dig down to the portal room and place an Eye of Ender into each empty frame; all 12 frames must be filled to activate the portal.
Some End portal frames generate already filled, so bring up to 12 eyes to be safe — and never stand inside the frame ring as it activates.
