Description
Ender Pearl drops from Endermen with a 50% base chance, increased by Looting. Endermen spawn at night in the Overworld and throughout the End, and are also found in Stronghold libraries and End Cities.
Throwing it teleports the player wherever it lands, even across gaps or over walls if the arc clears an opening. The 5-damage arrival cost is fully negated by landing in water, making puddles, water buckets placed ahead, and boats useful pads for long throws. Chorus fruit offers a cheaper random teleport alternative but cannot be aimed.
Ender pearls combine with blaze powder to craft Eyes of Ender, which are required to locate and activate the Stronghold portal. In PvP they enable quick gap-closing, escaping enclosed spaces, and crossing large voids. Technical players build pearl stasis chambers — a pearl suspended in bubble columns — to trigger teleportation at a precise future moment.
