Description

Diamond Shovel is the diamond-tier digging tool in Minecraft, crafted from one diamond placed above two sticks in the crafting grid. Diamond Shovel has 1,561 durability and breaks dirt, sand, gravel, clay, snow, soul sand, and mud faster than the iron, stone, or wooden versions. In Java Edition Diamond Shovel deals 5.5 attack damage and was renamed from "Diamond Spade" in the 1.13 update.

Beyond digging, Diamond Shovel right-clicks a grass block to create a Dirt Path for tidy village walkways and extinguishes a lit campfire with a single click. Players enchant Diamond Shovel with Efficiency, Unbreaking, Mending, and Fortune, then upgrade it to a Netherite Shovel at a smithing table using a Netherite Upgrade template and one netherite ingot. Diamond Shovel is the go-to landscaping tool before netherite gear becomes available.
