Crafter
Crafter is the redstone-controlled crafting block from 1.21, assembling recipes automatically when powered.
Also known as: Auto Crafter, Autocrafter
Description
The block is most valuable in factories that convert farm output into compact goods: bamboo into planks, kelp into dried blocks, nuggets into ingots, or ingredients into rockets and dispensable supplies. Hoppers, droppers, and water streams can feed it from several sides. Because one pulse equals one craft attempt, comparator clocks and item filters are usually needed to prevent jams.

How to use a Crafter in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the Crafter
Arrange five iron ingots across the top row and middle sides, a crafting table in the center, two redstone dust in the bottom corners, and a dropper in the bottom-center slot of a 3x3 grid.
-
2
Place and orient it
Put the Crafter down facing the direction you want output to leave; the front face holds the crafting wheel and is where finished items are ejected.
-
3
Configure the slots
Right-click the Crafter to open it, then toggle off any slots you want to stay empty so the block only accepts your exact recipe pattern.
-
4
Feed it ingredients
Use hoppers, droppers, or water streams to insert items into the enabled slots from the back or sides of the Crafter.
-
5
Trigger with redstone
Send a redstone pulse to the Crafter; each pulse attempts one craft and pushes the result into the container or space in front.
The Crafter only makes recipes that fit a 3x3 crafting grid — it cannot smelt, brew, or use smithing-table recipes. It was added in Minecraft 1.21 for both Java and Bedrock Edition.
