Clock
Clock shows the day-night cycle from anywhere, crafted with gold around redstone.
Description
The item does not work normally in the Nether or End, where the dial spins because those dimensions lack a day-night sky. It can be held, placed in an item frame, or kept in storage rooms as a visual detail. For builders, clocks fit observatories, wizard towers, workshops, train stations, and redstone control rooms.

How to make and use a Clock in Minecraft
-
1
Gather the materials
Smelt or find 4 gold ingots and craft 1 redstone dust from a redstone ore block. A Clock needs both before crafting.
-
2
Craft the Clock
Open a crafting table and place 4 gold ingots in a plus shape with 1 redstone dust in the center cell to produce one Clock.
-
3
Read the time
Hold the Clock or open your inventory; the dial shows the sun for day and the moon for night so you know the Overworld time underground.
-
4
Mount it for builds
Place the Clock in an item frame on a wall to make a working in-game clock, or read it with a comparator for time-based redstone.
A Clock spins randomly and shows no useful time in the Nether and the End, because those dimensions have no day-night sky.

How do you craft a Clock in Minecraft?
Place 4 gold ingots in a plus shape around 1 redstone dust in the center of a crafting table to make one Clock.
Does a Clock work in the Nether?
No. A Clock spins randomly in the Nether and the End because those dimensions have no day-night sky; it only shows time in the Overworld.
Can you read a Clock with a comparator?
Yes. Put a Clock in an item frame and a redstone comparator outputs a signal based on the displayed in-game time.
What is a Clock used for?
A Clock tells whether it is day or night from underground, caves, or windowless bases, helping players time safe trips to the surface.
