Choke is the first of three winding components in the Ala Industrial tech mod for Minecraft 26.2 Java Edition, available on both Fabric and NeoForge. Choke is an item, not a block: the component neither consumes nor stores EU (the mod's energy unit) and exists purely as a crafting ingredient. On a crafting table, six Invar Plates, two Copper Coils, and one Electronic Circuit become one Choke — the shaped recipe fills the whole 3×3 grid, with the plates stacked as two yokes, the coils on the sides, and the circuit in the centre. This construction separates the entire choke line from the Copper Coil: a core laminated from plates with windings on its legs, where the tier is decided by the core material, not by size.
Choke works as a semi-finished part in two recipes. The Reinforced Choke places the tier-one winding part at the centre of the grid and surrounds it with four pinches of Diamond Dust, four Tempered Iron Plates, and two more Copper Coils. The Core Barrel combines two Chokes with six Reinforced Invar Plates. The ladder then climbs to the Advanced Choke, whose centre is the reinforced step. Choke stacks to 64, so a workshop keeps a parts buffer without extra chests. The first Choke is within reach right after the Copper Coil and invar; the reinforced step needs Diamond Dust from a working Macerator, and the advanced step closes the technology line with Resonance Coils and a Palladium Plate.

Stock the precursor parts
Prepare the ingredients first: six Invar Plates, two Copper Coils, and one Electronic Circuit. The first Choke unlocks right after the Copper Coil stage of the technology line.

Fill a 3×3 crafting grid
On a crafting table, lay the Invar Plates across the top and bottom rows, put one Copper Coil on each side of the middle row, and place the Electronic Circuit in the centre. The recipe fills all nine slots and yields one Choke.

Upgrade to the Reinforced Choke
Put Choke in the centre of a new 3×3 grid, drop four pinches of Diamond Dust into the corners, use four Tempered Iron Plates as the yokes, and add two Copper Coils on the sides.

Build the Core Barrel
Combine two Chokes with six Reinforced Invar Plates: the plates occupy the top and bottom rows, and the two Chokes sit in the middle row.
Choke has no mechanics of its own
Choke is an item, not a machine: the component never ticks, never connects to cables, and stores no EU. There is no placed state and no working state — Choke lives only in inventories and crafting grids, stacking up to 64.
