How to use a Cave Spider Spawn Egg in Minecraft
-
1
Get the egg
Find the Cave Spider Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs tab of the Creative inventory, or run /give @s minecraft:cave_spider_spawn_egg in any world with cheats enabled.
-
2
Aim at a block
Point your crosshair at the top or side of a solid block where you want the cave spider to appear.
-
3
Use the egg
Right-click (use item) to spawn one cave spider on that surface; each use spends one egg in Survival but is free in Creative.
-
4
Set the difficulty
Switch to Normal or Hard if you want the cave spider's bite to inflict Poison; on Easy it deals damage without poison.
A spawn egg cannot create a monster spawner — it only places a live mob. In Survival, cave spiders occur naturally only in abandoned mineshaft spawners.
