How to use a Blaze Spawn Egg in Minecraft
-
1
Get the spawn egg
Open the Creative inventory and search for "Blaze", or run /give @s minecraft:blaze_spawn_egg to add the egg to your hotbar.
-
2
Aim at a block
Point the crosshair at the top or side face of a solid block where you want the Blaze to appear.
-
3
Use the egg
Right-click (use item) to spawn one Blaze on that surface. The egg is consumed in Survival but not in Creative mode.
-
4
Convert a spawner (optional)
Use the egg on a placed monster spawner to turn it into a Blaze spawner for an XP or Blaze Rod farm.
Blazes are immune to fire and lava and can fly, so spawn them in an enclosed space unless you want them to drift away. The egg behaves the same in Java and Bedrock Edition.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft a Blaze Spawn Egg?
No. The Blaze Spawn Egg is not craftable; you can only obtain it from the Creative inventory or with the /give command in Java Edition.
Where do Blazes spawn naturally?
Blazes spawn naturally only inside Nether Fortresses, usually near blaze spawners. The spawn egg lets you place them anywhere else.
Can you use a Blaze Spawn Egg on a spawner?
Yes. Using the egg on a monster spawner converts it into a Blaze spawner, which is handy for XP and Blaze Rod farms.
Does the Blaze Spawn Egg work in Survival mode?
Not normally. It is a Creative-only item and appears in Survival only if commands are enabled and you use /give.
What does a Blaze drop?
A Blaze drops 0–1 Blaze Rods, which are used to craft a Brewing Stand and Blaze Powder for Eyes of Ender.
