Description

The Blaze Spawn Egg is a Creative-mode utility item that spawns a Blaze — the fire-shooting hostile mob of the Nether — when you use it on a block. The egg cannot be crafted and never appears in Survival without commands; you find it in the Creative inventory or grant it with /give @s minecraft:blaze_spawn_egg in Java Edition. Using the egg on a monster spawner converts that spawner into a Blaze spawner, which is handy for XP and Blaze Rod farms. Naturally, Blazes spawn only inside Nether Fortresses, so the spawn egg lets map-makers and Creative builders place them anywhere else — overworld arenas, custom dungeons, or test farms. Each Blaze drops 0–1 Blaze Rods, the key ingredient for the Brewing Stand and for Blaze Powder, which in turn makes Eyes of Ender and Magma Cream. The item carries the standard orange-and-yellow spotted spawn-egg texture, so it is easy to spot in a hotbar. The Blaze Spawn Egg behaves identically in both Java and Bedrock Edition.

Java & Bedrock Guide

How to use a Blaze Spawn Egg in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Get the spawn egg

Open the Creative inventory and search for "Blaze", or run /give @s minecraft:blaze_spawn_egg to add the egg to your hotbar.

  2. 2

    Aim at a block

Point the crosshair at the top or side face of a solid block where you want the Blaze to appear.

  3. 3

    Use the egg

Right-click (use item) to spawn one Blaze on that surface. The egg is consumed in Survival but not in Creative mode.

  4. 4

    Convert a spawner (optional)

Use the egg on a placed monster spawner to turn it into a Blaze spawner for an XP or Blaze Rod farm.

Edition note

Blazes are immune to fire and lava and can fly, so spawn them in an enclosed space unless you want them to drift away. The egg behaves the same in Java and Bedrock Edition.
