Block of Bamboo
Bamboo Block compresses nine bamboo stalks into one solid log-equivalent — added in 1.20 with the bamboo wood family.
1.21
Description
Bamboo Block is the entry point of the bamboo wood family added in update 1.20 (Trails & Tales). Crafted from nine bamboo stalks in a 3×3 grid, it functions as the bamboo equivalent of a regular log: it strips with an axe to reveal a smoother textured face, smelts as fuel in a furnace, and crafts into two planks per block on the crafting grid (a different ratio than the four-per-log of every other wood species).
What makes this material unique is how easy bamboo is to farm. A single sapling of bamboo grows continuously upward in any biome with sufficient light, and a small farm produces enough stalks to supply a permanent crafting chain without any tree-felling at all. Builders use Bamboo Block as a structural element in pagodas, garden walls, and Asian-inspired temples — the smooth vertical striations contrast beautifully against horizontal-grain woods like oak or spruce.
