Azalea
Azalea is the small flowering bush of lush caves — bone-mealed it grows into a tree that signals lush biome below.
Description
The most useful interaction is bone-mealing: applying bone meal to a placed bush triggers it to grow into a full azalea tree, with a stout oak-like trunk and a canopy of azalea leaves. If the bush was planted on a dirt-family block above stone or deepslate, the growth also generates a small lush cave directly beneath the tree — converting the underground into the colourful biome with moss, glow berries, and pink petals. This makes azalea both decoration and a tool for sculpting underground ecosystems wherever the player wants them. The block is harvestable by hand and stacks normally in inventory.

How to grow an Azalea tree in Minecraft
-
1
Obtain an azalea bush
Find an azalea on the surface above a lush cave or inside one, then break it by hand to collect the bush itself rather than its leaves.
-
2
Place it on dirt over stone
Set the azalea on grass, dirt, moss, or another dirt-type block that sits above stone or deepslate if you want a lush cave to form below.
-
3
Apply bone meal
Use bone meal on the placed azalea to grow it into an oak-shaped azalea tree. Repeat the bone meal if it does not grow on the first try.
-
4
Explore the lush cave
When the tree grows over stone, a small lush cave forms directly beneath it. Dig down to find moss, glow berries, and clay.
An azalea tree only generates a lush cave when the dirt block sits above stone or deepslate. Over sand or cobblestone no cave is created.
