Description

Yellow Terracotta is the stained form of terracotta, crafted from eight terracotta blocks wrapped around one yellow dye on the crafting grid — the recipe returns eight Yellow Terracotta blocks at once. Staining is irreversible: no recipe can change or remove the yellow color, so each dye commits one fixed shade. Mining requires a pickaxe of any tier, a wooden pickaxe already clears Yellow Terracotta in 0.95 seconds against a hardness of 1.25, and breaking without a pickaxe drops nothing. Yellow Terracotta also generates naturally in the colored layer walls of badlands biomes above Y≈74 and in the houses of savanna villages.

Smelting turns one Yellow Terracotta block into yellow glazed terracotta, a patterned tile that awards 0.1 experience per smelt. Expert-level mason villagers trade every terracotta color for emeralds, which keeps Yellow Terracotta renewable without extra dye. Builders use Yellow Terracotta for walls, floors and roofs in desert, savanna and badlands themed builds, and stacks of 64 simplify hauling large batches across the map.
