White Concrete Powder is a gravity-affected block that hardens into white Concrete on contact with water — a source block, flowing water, or, in Java Edition, a waterlogged block triggers the conversion. Mining White Concrete Powder needs no special tool; a Shovel works fastest. One shapeless craft combines 4 Sand, 4 Gravel, and 1 white dye into 8 White Concrete Powder blocks; Red Sand cannot replace Sand in the recipe, and Bedrock Edition plus Education accept Bone Meal directly as the white dye. White Concrete Powder is renewable, because piglins barter Gravel and the wandering trader sells Sand. All 16 dye colors produce a matching powder, and White Concrete Powder joined Minecraft in Java Edition 1.12 and Bedrock Edition 1.1.0.
Falling White Concrete Powder solidifies immediately on landing in water. White Concrete Powder placed next to water hardens only after a block update. Rain and splash water bottles have no effect on White Concrete Powder; Java Edition 1.13.1 also removed lava's ability to convert the powder. White Concrete Powder in item form never becomes Concrete. For large white structures, pour stacks of White Concrete Powder down a shaft into standing water and harvest the white Concrete that forms.
