Description

Warped Fence is a barrier block whose collision box (the invisible area entities bump into) is 1.5 blocks tall, so most mobs and players cannot jump over a line of Warped Fence. Java Edition added Warped Fence in 1.16, and Bedrock Edition followed in 1.16.0, both as part of the Nether wood set. Four Warped Planks and two Sticks produce three Warped Fences in the crafting grid.

Warped Fence cannot catch fire, which separates it from the Overworld wooden fences that burn. Warped Fence stacks to 64 per slot, lets light pass through its gaps, and attaches to any solid block placed beside it. Warped Fence suits animal pens, balconies, and Nether-style walls that must stay intact near fire.

Craft three fences

Four Warped Planks go in the left and right columns of two adjacent rows of the crafting grid, and two Sticks go in the centre column of those rows, which returns three Warped Fences.

Build the line

Warped Fence posts placed side by side link to each other and to the solid blocks next to them, so the wall grows with every post.

Break it with an axe

An axe removes Warped Fence fastest, and any other tool still makes the fence drop as an item.

Tether a mob

A lead used on a placed Warped Fence ties a mob such as a horse to the post.
